Denman Street is considered to be the heart of the West End. It consists of eight short blocks from Georgia on the north to Davie on the south. In between can be found one of the most interesting combinations of businesses and shops in the city. At the same time it is part of Vancouver's downtown, the main thoroughfare of a neigbourhood and a tourist destination in its own right. Proximity to English Bay and Stanley Park contribute to its packed sidewalks on sunny days.
During the last 10 years several blocks have undergone redevelopment resulting in a much needed variety of architectural styles and visual stimulation. No similar distance has a greater concentration of outdoor, sidewalk or patio extensions. This collection of images hopes to indicate that a stroll along Denman can be an extremely pleasant experience especially if dining out is on the agenda. Enjoy the trip.
